Founded by Crystal McDaniel, this brand was created from a deep love for animals, family, healing, and the incredible bond we share with the creatures who walk beside us through life. Inspired by Crystal’s beloved service dog, Mister Big, Big’s Paws with a Purpose Portraits began with dogs, but our heart extends to all cherished animals. A portion of proceeds supports organizations helping Veterans and individuals living with PTSD, including Fortunate Sons and Warrior Freedom Service Dogs. Through advocacy and education, we also work to raise awareness surrounding invisible disabilities, service dog etiquette, ADA awareness, and the powerful role animals can play in emotional healing and recovery.

Commission
Commissioned Artwork
Each commissioned piece created by Crystal is designed to become a timeless heirloom — deeply personal, emotionally meaningful, and beautifully crafted to reflect the unique spirit of your beloved animal or subject. Every portrait is hand-painted on canvas and thoughtfully created through a collaborative artistic process centered around your story, your vision, and the personality of the one being portrayed.
Commission sizes begin at 16x20 and are available in larger custom formats upon request. All artwork is created on premium canvas using professional materials and techniques designed for lasting beauty and display.
Commission pricing begins at $1,000 and may range up to $5,000, depending on the size of the canvas, level of detail, artistic complexity, background elements, dimensional effects, and the painting style selected. Whether you desire a classic oil portrait inspired by the Old Masters, a soft watercolor heirloom, dramatic contemporary realism, or a highly detailed custom composition, pricing will vary according to the amount of time and artistic detail involved in the creation of the piece.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required once your custom quote has been approved in order to reserve your commission space on Crystal’s calendar.
Please allow adequate time for the production of your artwork. Fine art portraiture is an intentional and highly individualized process. Each canvas is created specifically for the client and shaped through the artistic interpretation and meticulous craftsmanship of the artist.
Crystal is a meticulous storytelling artist who believes every piece should feel deeply personal, visually breathtaking, and entirely unique to you. Great care is taken to ensure that each portrait carries emotional warmth, elegance, dimension, and life.
Please allow approximately 6–8 weeks from the beginning of the painting process to final delivery, though some highly detailed commissions may require additional time. If you are commissioning artwork as a gift, especially for holidays or special occasions, please plan accordingly to allow the artwork to be completed with the level of excellence and artistry it deserves.
All commissioned artwork will include the artist’s signature and a Certificate of Authenticity, certifying the originality and authenticity of your custom fine art piece.
